Club night this month took the format of an 'Open Forum' which gave some of our newer club members the chance to make up the panel. Graham McCartney, KoiAddict, owner of the popual koi forum 'KOIKeepers.co.uk', Laurence 'Pondy' Harvey, a keen koi showman and Dave Baker, the water expert, joined Graham Hall and George Simmons, committee members to take the questions from the floor. A daunting experience for anyone as you don't know who will ask what! The evening was very informative with Dave turning out to be the clubs own 'Mr Water' specialist. Members plied the panel with a broad range of questions which enabled healthy discussion and debate around the room. I have yet to meet two koi keepers who agree on the same thing. Topics covered were: filtration in particular showers, koi health, food, showing routines, etc.. We all went home with a feeling of 'yes, I could try that...'. Looking forward to the Forum of 2010. |
