This was a very practical evening. Our speaker was Frazer Smith of L J Smith Microscopes who was accompanied by his father 'LJ'. They brought a range of microscopes for club members to try out and covered care and maintenance of your own microscope. Frazer explained how microscopes work and described the various parts, he gave us information on where to keep the microscope and what to look out for if it starts to go wrong. Club members had been encouraged to bring their own microscopes along and get them checked out. Several members took the opportunity to send their microscopes for service with Frazer. There was the availability of related goods for sale to top up the home kit. It was a great evening with lots of helpful information and a good deal of 'hands on' activity which was enjoyed by everyone. Frazer certainly kept us all entertained as well as informed.
