Wednesday July 20th A special night at Dave and Dianes fantastic pond and garden, hosted by

Yumi KOi, Mike Snaden

What a great night at crouch valley. Wednesday 20th July, we had the double pleasure of holding our club night at Dave and Dianne spectacular Garden and ponds

Dave is a legend , for his water quality and healthcare for his spectacular collection of fish. Dianne, has set a stage to show the ponds with fantastic, tropical gardens and great hospitality. Together they opened up there house to over 75 members to see an amazing set up.

We had the chance to see Daves main pond, wildlife pond, and his growing on and hospital facilities.

Tonight was made even more special as Mike Snaden of Yume Koi came to Dave and Dianne house to host a mini master class.

Late last year Dave purchased from Mike several fish at a very early age, and tonight, Mike was going to give his opinion of each fish in there first year, and sex the fish.

Mike clearly showed us and explained what we should look for in sexing these Koi, but being so young, this is not always possible.

The goods news for Dave , his fish are doing fantastic and we all look forward in following the development of these one year olds.

The rest of the evening Mike hosted an open panel, to over 75 members, and questions where raised from, filters, food, water quality.

Last a huge thanks to Mike, Dave and Dianne and all the members of the Couch Valley Section that make our club such a great koi Section.

CLUB NIGHT

Wenesday 15th June

JO SO PRODUCTS - Yorkie

CLOSED SHOW 2011

The 2011 was sponsored "TC KOI, Hill House Koi, Avenue Fisheries, and Kusuri Products" and koi2000

A massive thanks to them all for the generosity and assistance they all provided.

The 2011 Closed show was held at our regular venue, at the South Essex Garden Show ,
at Barlylands Farm, on the 11th and 12th of June 2011.

AS always a excited team arrive on the Thursday to the show ground to set up the show
This year our pitch had been moved that brought problems for water access and drainage. Alan Hurley and his team quickly resolved the problems
It was not long before the Crouch Valley members had the marquees up and vats had been organised, and was ready to fill with water.
This year the show has been modified to include extra vats for exhibitors this now pushed the number up to 20 vats.
A big thank you must go to the members that give up their time from work and schedules during the day to get the show setup
The second day the general public had some Koi to view and a big thanks to Members who assisted on the Friday

Friday Evening the Show fish arrive and a late night was had, but a big thanks to the Team that Stayed over and made sure the fish healthcare was looked after and the security of the site was upheld.
The Big Day is the Saturday, many thousands of visitors are attracted to the garden show and all are eager to view our Koi.
Darren Hepple would have attracted new members, when he talks with passion about the benefits of a Koi Club,
Once again we stayed with the Crouch closed show size allocation for the Koi, where as the BKKS will have 8 sizes of Koi we only have 3, These Koi sizes are as follows.
Size 1 & 2 are our size 1, size 3 & 4 is our size 2 and finally size 5, 6, 7 & 8 is our final size 3.
The BKKS provided a fantastic team of judges that worked hard to find our champion.
AS always we would like to thank them both for their time and efforts, thank you.
Also on location was representation from the HSC, once more we would like to thank them for their time and dedication for the welfare of the Koi, thank you.

Saturday Night is a great social time, A thanks to Dave Baker Darren and myself for the BBQ , but also to all the other committee members that make sure all the food and drinks is there, fresh and ready.

Re: CROUCH CLUB MEETING 16th FEB

On behalf of the club committee and the members I would like to thank Christine Woolger for a great night, A well organised and understandable presentation on Koi Appreciation, not Koi Assasination

Great to go over a variety of the finer points and some of the basic obvious points when looking and selecting koi and finally judging them in shows.

With another packed house it was a great start to the 2011 Crouch Valley Koi Club year.

Once again a big thanks to Christine,

Wednesday 17th November Meeting update

Just to inform all members that the November meeting will be George's Quiz, this will be brought forward one month as this was suppose to be in December but as we have no Photographic competition yet then this will now be in November's meeting.

November 2010 Club Meeting It is with sadness that I have to inform you that the Crouch Valley Photo Competition which was to be held on the 17th November will not be going ahead. There WILL be a meeting of course but it will not be as planned, it will more than likely be an open forum unless advised otherwise by the committee. This decission has not come easy, huge amounts of efforts have been carried out by Lisa & Ash on collecting all the photographs, they have travelled far and wide covering 300 miles or so to obtain everything, and had delivered everything on time in perfect order, so a quick thank you to both of them for their efforts. It appears that there has been some miss communication between the ranks at the JSC and a Judge has not been allocated for this competition and therefore has caused a huge delay in reviewing these photgraphs and judging them, and then finally getting them back to me in a timely manner in which I would have placed them on a presentation to be screened on the night of the meeting. I hope that further down the road these photographs can be arranged and judged as these nights at the Crouch Valley go down very well with the members, and are a fun night on our calendar schedule.

Members dont forget to go and see our sponsers and all recomended dealers in our links section...above during the winter.
It may be cold but the dealers still need our support !!

Our meeting just get better and better !! Join the crouch and you will see why !!! Reason last night was the Muppets Tour talk. Massive thanks Gazz and Bob, you are wasted sparkys, you should go into stand up . Seriously, A great talk on their trip to Southern Japan. I learned loads and realy now want to experiance buying a koi in Japan from the breader direct. From all the crouch Members thank you ! PS no pictures as left camera at home

September meeting Wednesday 15th September at Laindon community centre 8.00pm

A fantastic talk on a trip to Japan, known as the muppets tour...another great night and fish tales

Meeting 18th September

Last night Crouch Valley Koi Club had JoSo Products visit us for a talk, Steve and Sharon have over 12 years of Koi keeping experience and providing professional advice on all your Koi keeping requirements.

Steve's talk was on the art of pond building, we have all been there building our first pond and some people have sat back after the completion and thought I should have done that different or even at a later date thinking I wish I had taken that advice.

Well last nights talk covered most of the pitfalls in pond building.

We discussed slab base block built ponds over liner, we talked about mesh builds and the best place to use them, there seemed to be no angle not covered with Steve and the chat went down very well with the members.

I personally found it interesting as I am currently in a build myself and listening to some free advice from a respected pond builder has gave me a little more confidence to take a few more things on myself.

There is plenty going on with JoSo Products at the moment, what with pond builds and a shop extension. But im sure once this has all been completed we can return the favour and pop down to see Steve and Sharon to give them our support.

On behalf of the members thank you once again, dont forget the laptop next time Steve

If you have any questions on the services Steve and Sharon provide please visit their website here
www.josoproducts.com

Many thanks Graham M for the Article !

Crouch Valley Thanks YumeKoi

On Wednesday 21st July Crouch valley Koi Club had the pleasure of Mike Snaden from Yume Koi, the talk covered many areas like achieving and understanding Jumbo Koi, Mike's procedures on Koi quarantine and where he stands with blood testing.

There was over 55 Crouch Valley members who attended and also some very welcome guests, and for two and a half hours we were amazed as Mike gave a fantastic presentation. So much detailed and exciting information was provided, which will make interesting discussion for many weeks and months.

I think the proof of Mike's fantastic name in the industry was shown, when he showed a DVD of his amazing collection of the highest grade koi for sale in the UK.
