Since 2019 when the Crouch Valley Koi Section moved its open show to its venue at Buckhatch Nursery Garden Centre in Rettendon, Essex, it has grown from strength to strength with our 2024 show seeing a bigger attendance than ever, one of the largest number of koi seen in a UK show and all the exhibitors and dealers expressing what a great weekend it was.

The CVKS show team have always felt a contributing factor to our success is the partnership with the garden centre and use of a great space that is under cover whilst allowing in mases of natural light.

It was a nervous time for us therefore, when earlier this year, the garden centre was sold to new owners. Would they still want to rent us the space for our show?

Well, the great news is YES – the new owners Perrywood who own two other very successful garden centres in Essex and Suffolk have agreed to us holding our show and, additionally, we are moving into a different greenhouse which will provide us with some new benefits, not least of all is access to the showground for our exhibitors and dealers without going through the garden centre and navigating around their customers.

When we say successful, Perrywood Tiptree was recently voted 1st in the National Garden Centre Association top 100 and their Sudbury Garden Centre came 8th. Find out more here https://www.perrywood.co.uk/welcome-to-perrywood-buckhatch/

The tape measure has been out and for this year, we will have 26 show vats and space for one extra dealer pitch.

So, it’s game on and full steam ahead for the 2nd & 3rd August 2025.

If last year is anything to go by, we anticipate a great show given we had excess demand for both show vats and dealer pitches. In fact the majority of dealer pitches have already been taken and we have all the following attending:

Akahana Koi

Aqua Aeration Systems

Burtons Aquatics

C&N Koi

Carp Co

Clearwater Koi

HeatPumps4Pools

Koi Carp UK

Koi Water Barn

Norfine Nets

Nutramare

And of course, entry will be FREE OF CHARGE. Where else do you get something for nothing when it comes to koi?

And with Koi Water Barn once again kindly agreeing to sponsor the major trophies, Donna from Donna’s Koi Art is already hard at work painting a set of Sanke for this year’s awards.
